Conference “Interdepartmental cooperation, mental health and modern technologies – Challenges of modern probation service”

Organised by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration of Croatia and the Norwegian Correctional Service, the international conference was held in Opatija on 4 and 5 October.In a decade of its existence, the Croatian probation service has grown into a service that plays a central role in the social integration of criminal offenders as well as in the protection of the community.

The results and successes of the service have been recognized in international frameworks, which is a recognition of all probation officers and officials, but also of cooperating institutions such as the Institution of the City of Zagreb "DOBRI DOM" (by the Agreement on the existence of a common interest for the execution of work for the common good at liberty between the Ministry of Justice and the Institution of the City of Zagreb "DOBRI DOM", since May 2006).

At the conference, the achieved results and progress in the improvement of judicial infrastructure, electronic judicial services through the introduction of electronic surveillance and the use of VR in the education of probation officers, increasing the competence of judges and strengthening the protection of human rights. In the name of the "DOBRI DOM", Katarina Radat, graduate social worker, head of the Department for Social Welfare, attended the international project conference.
